the difference [YOU] make

Big or small - this is what happens when you donate to the CSRA Gynecological Cancer Support Group

  • Funds funeral arrangements, burial arrangements, and condolences especially for people of low economic status.

  • Funds prepaid gas and phone cards to lessen the burden for patients who struggle with poverty and financial distress.

  • Host an annual Christmas Party for the patients and their families to promote fellowship and celebrate life together. This is an event that all the survivors look forward to and represents an important milestone in their fight against cancer.

  • The CSRA GYN Cancer Support Group supports and contributes financially to other non-profits like the Daksha Chudgar Lydia House and the Livestrong program at the YMCA, which works with our cancer patients.

  • The CSRA GYN Cancer Support Group has established the “Dr. Julia Hendrich Foundation” in memory of one of our late support group members Dr. Julia Hendrich. This foundation sponsors a patient and a family member or friend on a wilderness retreat for gynecological cancer patients by a raffle drawing mechanism.

  • The group has started giving grants for survivorship research, and we have had two poster presentations, one at the 2015 Annual European Gynecological Oncology (ESGO) meeting at Nice, France and the other at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) palliative care meeting in San Francisco 2016.

  • Socialization and bonding is an important component of healing, and we organize a variety of events that have included trips on the Augusta Canal, dinner theatre shows, and our annual painting party sponsored by the owner of Van Goh and Vino, Michele Ashe of Augusta, Georgia.

All because of your support…
